Tom Bridge TANGLED LINES • Mainly known for some of the creamiest tall-man freestyle on the planet, Exmouth’s currently second-favorite son, Tommy Bridge esquire, is mainly associated with high kites, strong kicker work and the blindest of blind landings rather than straight up Jacobsen’esque stunt work. His usual attitude to Big Air riding would be generously described as ambivalent at best. It only took a half man, half Billy goat billionaire and some fizzy drinks to get the wheels in motion…
ON THE LIST Sicily • Sicily is well known for the butter-flat water of Lo Stagnone lagoon, but there is more to the island than just the lagoon, as Nobile found on their annual photoshoot there.
FLYSURFER ERA • New Zealand’s Hugo Wigglesworth recently broke the WOO World Record with a jump height of 36.7 meters. We chatted to him about this achievement and the ERA kite that took him stratospheric.
MASIRAH • Giel Vlugt and Zara Hoogenraad missioned to Masirah Island, off the east coast of Oman, to shoot the latest Imperator Limited Edition from Carved. Giel tells us why it’s one of their favorite places to visit, this being their third time back.
INDO PERFECTION • It’s fair to say Brazilian kitesurfer Sebastian Ribeiro loves waves, making the most of them either with a kite or just good old-fashioned paddle surfing. So when he headed to Indonesia on a trip with surf friends, he couldn’t resist packing his kite gear and searching out the perfect spot for some wind powered shredding…
KAYA LEHMANN • Having performed well at the GKA’s Youth events over the last couple of years, Kaya Lehmann recently competed at her first pro level event, the GKA Freestyle World Cup France, and showed that she means business, coming third alongside long-time competitors Bruna Kajiya and Rita Arnaus. We caught up with the young star to find out more about her.
FINN FLÜGEL • Finn Flügel might only be 15 but has already proved his mettle at pro level competitions, recently coming third at the GKA Freestyle World Cup France. He has competed both in freestyle and hydrofoil events, and won the top spot at the GKA’s Youth events more than once. We thought we better find out more about him.

Storm has passed • Big Air aficionado Cohan van Dijk spent time in Tarifa this summer, where he took part in the Full Power Tarifa competition. While there photographer Storm Jansen snapped these shots of Cohan and also spoke to him about his kiting career, what life is like as a pro kiter and his recovery from a knee injury last year. So covering all the bases…
THE Whiteleys • When I (TKM Editor Sarah) met a 16-year-old Hannah Whiteley back in 2009, she inspired me to start doing the British kite competitions and pushed me to progress. Turning up to the comps, her entire family would be there, including her legendary father, Peter Whiteley, who was an inspirational kiter and top competitor himself. He always had a huge smile on his face even in the most adverse weather conditions. His legendary pre-comp mantra ‘pump up your kite Hannah’ (delivered in a broad Mancunian accent) became a catchphrase amongst many involved in the tour during that era. Sadly, he passed away suddenly earlier this...
